The perfect 6 pack!

July 12th, 2010

We’ve launched a new Rugby-themed six pack onto the market, offering our consumers the chance to win rugby-related prizes. This coincides with our recent sponsorship renewal with the WRU. When we’re not rain-dancing, we’re cheering on the boys in red! Here’s our MD David Jones being held up by the squad in a line out….
This really is the perfect 6 pack – the water that is, David could really manage a few more sit-ups!

Hob-nobbing it with the Royals!

July 12th, 2010

We were delighted to meet with Princes Charles and Duchess Camilla in Tenby recently. They were on a meet-and-greet around the local manufacturers, and we were really very taken with how down-to-earth and warm they both were.

They’re avid supporters of ‘Buy Local’ and it’s good to see them taking a keen interest in British produce. Here’s our very own Nic and Glyn having a chin-wag with the pair!

Our Sales SOAR!

June 7th, 2010

We’re delighted to announce our recent listing with BMI Baby, which will see our beloved brand jet setting across Europe! It marks yet another high-profile account listing under our belts, which include Jamie’s Italia Restaurant chain (we love Jamie!) and most recently Tesco. So we’re enjoying record growth levels – aided no doubt by this lovely weather we’re all enjoying. Long may it continue – and long may you – our consumers  – remain loyal to your indigenous Welsh water!

Laurence Dallaglio Pops in

May 4th, 2010

On his recent cyclethon journey across the 6 nations in aid of Sports Relief, Rugby legend Laurence Dallaglio passed by our little farm. Glyn Jones, a company Director (and still-working farmer on site!) couldn’t resist stopping the icon and offering he and his team some of our refreshing water.

Of the meeting, a member of the Dallaglio camp subsequently Twitted the following excerpt;

2010-03-04 19:01:57

Carmarthen-Fishguard 86km Done: 2339 km. To go: 549 km Weather: Perfect.

And then on top of that a great group, lovely hotels and good food. Just popped two Stugeron as our Stena ferry pulls out, and back one-handed on the Blackberry so slow going.

The Welsh have greeted Lawrence like one of their own. At the feed stop a farmer gave us his Prince’s Gate bottled water, and a cheque for £50. Unsigned mind you – but well spotted. But I guess every four years he pulled on a red jersey as a lion and they loved him, just as we loved Stephen Jones or Gareth Thomas.

Glyn assures us that he later did indeed sign the cheque!

Welcome!

Introducing Princes Gate’s new blog!

It’s a fine day here in Pembrokeshire, so I thought I’d pen you a line to fill you in on our latest news from our bottling plant in Narberth. The sun is shining, the cows are grazing on our Organic farm, and the bottling lines are going ding-dong with relentless optimism for a warm summer ahead… As much as we love rain, our precious natural resource, we’ve got plenty to do us for some time, so bring on the rays please!

Rays are… ahem Rain is great. We love it!

Pictured with our Commerical Manager, Rachel Evans, Ryan gives his seal of approval of the pack, which also features an ongoing on-pack promotion, offering consumers the opportunity to win signed merchandise and match tickets on a regular basis.

The launch marks the continued drive into Retail, were Princes Gate is quickly gathering momentium and boosting sales. There are also plans underway to further increase awareness of our link with the sport of the Nation…. Watch this space!

Our Friend Charlotte!

May 4th, 2010

We’d like to shout about how much we like and admire Charlotte Church. She’s the Celebrity Patron for Noah’s Ark Appeal, the wonderful organisation with whom we are Corporate Champion for Children. Noah’s Ark Appeal has been ploughing away in Wales for many years, and have successfully fundraised and lobbied endlessly to build and equip Wales only Children’s hospital. None of us ever what to have need to use their facilities, but it sure is reassuring to know they’re there if we need them….

We met Charlotte at the charity’s St David’s Day Lunch held at The Hilton Cardiff. She was so friendly and forthcoming of her time. She also spoke wonderfully and with passion for her admiration of the Noah’s Ark Appeal and all at the Cardiff Children’s Hospital.

Pictured here with Cerys and Elin Jones, Charlotte looks the picture of health and vitality. Long may she continue to fly the Noah’s Ark Flag!

Local Schoolchildren meet The Boys in Red!

April 22nd, 2010

Local schoolchildren had their dreams fulfilled on the eve of the final 6 Nations game with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and greet the full Welsh line-up in advance of what turned out to be a wonderful end to an otherwise disappointing tournament.

The full crew, including Shane Williams, Stephen Jones and our very own Mike Phillips, were out in force to show a united front and end the tournament on a high. 40 children – from both Narberth & Tavernspite Primary Schools, were treated to this momentous event, courtesy of Princes Gate Spring Water, the Official Water of the Welsh Rugby Team.

The participating children were taken by coach to the Millennium Stadium, where, at grass roots level, they had the enviable opportunity to watch the players warm up and train, before personally meeting the crew for autographs and photos.

Of the event, Narberth CP Head Edna Davies, commented; ‘I cannot express how wonderful this opportunity is for all of the children involved. The players and staff alike couldn’t have been more welcoming and forthcoming with their time. This is the second year we have participated in this event, and it just keeps getting better. Our huge thanks to Princes Gate Spring Water for inviting us to partake in such a fantastic initiative’.

Kevin Phelps, Tavernspite Head also added; ‘The children were on a high all day – as were the adult chaperones! It’s not often they get such an opportunity, and it’s become a keenly awaited date in the academic calendar. It’s so important for children to develop a sense of national pride – and what better way to do so than to back the boys in red! Our thanks again to all at Princes Gate Spring Water for involving us.’
